Camera

Canon G7X mk II - This the camera I use all the time to film my talks and interviews. ***Your cellphone is probably an amazing alternative as well #justsaying***

If you can find Canon PowerShot G7 X Digital Camera - Wi-Fi Enabled, I would get this too as it’s a more economical option and is WIFI-enabled.

Recording In Person

Rode smartLav+ Lavalier Microphone for Smartphones and Tablets - This is the mic I take with me to record all my video and talks. However many individuals are in the interview, please make sure each person is properly mic’d up. (I have at least 1 of these ALWAYS with me)

Adaptor Rode SC6 Dual TRRS In Headphone Out - Adapter for multiple Lav Mics - You are going to need this if you have multiple Lav Mics to hook up to either your recorder (see below) or your cell phone

Zoom H1 Handy Portable Digital Recorder (more economical option, less control) 

Roland R-05 Studio WAVE/MP3 Recorder (double the price of the first one, way more control) 

JOBY GorillaPod SLR Zoom. Flexible Tripod for DSLR and Mirrorless Cameras Up To 3kg. (6.6lbs). - I have 2 of these. That’s how much I love them. Perfect for DSLR cameras, cell phone or a tripod for your point and shoot cameras.

Joby JB01490 GripTight ONE Mount, Black - This is how you will mount your cell phone on your Joby or tripod of choice.
